St. Paul proclaimed that “there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Today as we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr., may we empowered to eliminate the sins of discrimination and racism in our own thoughts, words, and actions. Grant us the courage to be an agent of peace on our sport teams by welcoming everyone as a brother and sister rooted in Christ’s love and justice for all. As a team, we can stand together against all discrimination. Help us to seek the unity that St. Paul and Martin Luther King, Jr. saw so clearly so that all forms of injustice will cease. Amen.
